Lallemand opens offices in Vietnam

Lallemand Animal Nutrition has opened an office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to distribute the portfolio, including feed additives, for ruminants, pork, poultry, and aquaculture throughout the country.

Semex announces new subsidiary in Mexico

Semex Board of Directors and Executive Management Team announced the creation of a new wholly-owned subsidiary, Semex Mexico, effective 1 October 2020. “The Mexican dairy industry has seen consistent, steady growth. This is driven by their consumers turning to new healthier dairy products and a growing cheese market, the formation of the Semex Mexico subsidiary is a natural progression of our business,” says Horacio Larrea, Semex director International Sales & Business Development, Latin America.

ILDEX Vietnam 2021 to open its doors

ILDEX Vietnam 2021 – the 8th International Livestock, Dairy, Meat Processing and Aquaculture Exposition will open its doors to industry professionals and trade visitor again from 21-23 July, 2021. It is organised by VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. MEREBO Messe International based in Hamburg/Germany is in charge of European and Australian participants. The show will occupy 10,000 sqm at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center.

NovaQuest and Mileutis announce major financing agreement

NovaQuest Capital Management LLC announced a US$20 million product financing agreement with Mileutis Ltd., an Israeli biopharmaceutical company, to help mitigate the use of antibiotics in animals. NovaQuest’s investment will drive the continued development and commercialisation of Mileutis’ novel, biologically sourced, and residue-free therapies for animal health. Mileutis is in advanced stages of development in the US, EU, and Israel of an innovative product which addresses the main concern in the dairy industry: bovine mastitis.

VIV celebrates 20 years in China

Over 16,500 visitors attended VIV Qingdao 2020, held from 17-19 September. Global buyers joined virtually, registering over 55,000 pageviews. Included in the conference was the Global Pig Genetic Improvement Summit, and discussions around biosecurity measures on pig farms and sustainable solutions for animal waste treatment. VIV Qingdao 2021 is scheduled for 15-17 September next year.

DSM completes acquisition of Erber Group

Royal DSM has acquired Erber Group’s Biomin and Romer Labs. Biomin specialises primarily in mycotoxin risk management and gut health performance management, while Romer Labs focuses on food and feed safety diagnostic solutions.

Agromek postponed

Restrictions and the current transmission of Covid-19 mean a postponement of Agromek, which would have taken place in MCH Messecenter Herning in Denmark from 19-22 January 2021. In 2018, Agromek was visited by 40,214 visitors from 51 countries and had 540 exhibitors.
