Genetics High Performance
Genes Diffusion: GHP
Innovative and based on an exclusive technology for analysing the microbiota of Holstein cows, the GHP program makes it possible to determine, for each Holstein bull, genetic indexes adapted to the specific environment of each herd. It’s available for Holstein breeders who have genotyped all of their females and who practice milk performance control. It takes place in 4 simple steps requiring no adaptation in the management of reproduction on a daily basis:
- Analysis of the farm environment by sequencing of the intestinal microbiota
- Personalisation of indexes using artificial intelligence techniques, based on an algorithm combining data from the microbiota, genotyping and milk performance control
- Individualised mating advice
- Genetic performance monitoring
Thanks to these 100% personalised indexes, breeders can benefit of an additional brick of precision, allowing them to use without fail the best bull for each cow and, in the end, significantly improve the profitability of their milk production.

Energy-saving and environment-friendly milk cooling solution
Serap Industries: Opticool
On dairy farms, two thirds of the electricity consumption comes traditionally from the cooling of milk and the heating of sanitary water. The Opticool unit, associated with pre-cooling of milk, reduces by up to 60% to 80% the electricity consumption of these 2 items and the corresponding greenhouse gas emissions. It combines utilisation of new components (variable speed compressors and fans, temperature and volume sensors, automation…) with a new generation frigorific gas featuring a low environmental impact and an innovative functioning mode based on constant adaptation of the power delivered to the need. The integrated water loop heat recovery exchanger, also driven by the automaton allows Opticool to restore the equivalent of the energy it consumes to cool the milk through hot water production.

Manage your replacements peacefully
Farmers today have difficulty being away from their farms and finding qualified farm workers to ensure the continuity of the activity during their absence. This situation is even more accentuated with the health crisis and qualified and trustworthy workers in agriculture are a rare resource nowadays. Two main issues are related to these replacements. The first is training, a time-consuming step for the farmer who must re-explain each time the processes of his farm. The second is the operational follow-up of the replacements, so that the farmer can ensure the good realisation of the activities, but also that the farm worker can rely on a “support” in case of doubt or problem. Replace.Me aims to help farmers in the management and monitoring of replacements via an application available on PC and mobile. It presents functionalities for farmers that allow them to set up and monitor interventions, as well as functionalities for farm workers that allow them to enter intervention forms and interact with farmers via chat or video.

Silage protection against fumonisins
Biomin: FUMzyme Silage
In 2020, out of almost 6 000 corn samples analysed all over the world, 82% were contaminated with fumonisins. These mycotoxins cause important economic losses for farmers due to the reduced zootechnical performances of the animals. FUMzyme Silage is the only fumonisins deactivator applicable onto silage materials and is very easy to use. It is a unique additive sprayed onto corn (whole-plant corn silage, high moisture corn grain…), at harvest or during pit filling, that targets and detoxifies harmful fumonisins in a matter of minutes, so that the resulting silage materials are safe for swine and ruminant feed. It is the only EU approved product proven to remove fumonisins from silage materials, for all species, and is a step forward in mycotoxin risk management.

Determination of total solids in autom. feeder CalfExpert/correction of mix
Holm & Laue Gmbh & Co Kg: Brix-TS Sensor
Brix-TS is an electronic Brix-Sensor integrated into the PowerMixer bowl of the CalfExpert calf feeder, which continuously measures the dry matter of the freshly mixed calf milk. Brix-TS can detect different mixing concentrations of milk replacer. The control of the CalfExpert then corrects the concentration of the milk so that the right milk mixture is always prepared. That is important for example if the necessary calibration has not been carried out after changing the milk replacer. The control of the CalfExpert also compensates for fluctuations in the composition of the whole milk by addition of milk powder. With Brix-TS the CalfExpert uses the dry matter (total solids) as the definition of the milk composition. In future, there is no risk of confusion in the recommendations for milk concentration.

The natural ventilation solutions for your barn in just few clicks
Institut De L‘elevage: Shelt-air
Thinking about renovation or building projects is a strategic moment. One of the predominant elements is the ventilation due to its impact on health, welfare and performance of animals, but also on the health of workers and on the sustainability of equipment. However, the sizing of the openings is complex as it depends on the location of the building, the type and number of animals, the volume of the building and its period of occupation. Taking these parameters into account, Shelt-air allows breeders, advisors and veterinarians to diagnose existing buildings and to choose very easily the technical solutions to ensure a good natural ventilation of a livestock building to be renovated or created. It also provides access to a catalogue of windbreak products to choose the most appropriate. Shelt-air is available in several versions, including a free web and smartphone “light” version.

The Barn-E is particularly suitable for solid floors. It effortlessly cleans modular floors, rubber floors and other types of solid floors. This robot can also collect and transport cow manure in various ways. The robot is less than 70 cm high and the design is modular and very easy to maintain. The Barn-E works autonomously. It uses transponder technology to find its way around the barn. While it moves through the barn, the robot collects manure from the floor at the front. The manure is then raised and stored in the manure container by a rotating infeed. The manure robot doesn’t push manure forward, but pick it up. In total, the robot can process 370 to 500 litres. He can effortlessly clean barn floors with chopped straw, separated manure or sawdust in the cubicles. The Barn-E has rounded corners, so it’s kind for cows. The side arms help it keep floors cleaner and maintain a sufficient distance from the cubicle edge and the cows in the cubicles. The robot makes no noise, so peace is preserved and the Barn-E is accepted by the cows without any agitation.

Lely’s goal is to get a fast, smooth and full milking for every cow. Every animal is different and their needs vary throughout their lactation. Therefore, the goal of optimising brushing time is to reduce bimodality (i.e. delay in milk ejection) without compromising robot capacity, cow comfort, or udder health. Reducing bimodality is very important for good teat health and cow comfort. In fact, following several bimodalities, there can be irreparable damage to the teat tissues and cause hyperkeratosis of the sphincters. For a successful milking, preparation is essential. Lely brushes clean and stimulate teats before milking with a pre-set number and brushing time. With the arrival of the optimisation of brushing time, all cows having recorded bimodal milkings during the past week will have optimised brushing times.

Improve feed efficiency of the Montbeliarde cattle
Umotest Coopex Montbeliarde: digeR
To meet its needs, a cow must be fed properly, but what is the right amount of food to produce quality milk? digeR is a collaborative project bringing together two milk recording and herd support organisations: CEL 25-90 and Geniatest. Umotest is involved as a Montbeliarde breeding program. They pooled their resources and skills to enhance information from a sample of milk. digeR gives information on rumen efficiency per cow and per lactation. digeR is a phenotyping tool and a method for genetic evaluation of the feed efficiency based on milk analysis. digeR is calculated individually for each Montbéliarde of the herd. It allows to rank the animals thanks to a new indice. Heritability estimated of digeR is 31,4% (heritability of milk is 30%). digeR allows also to define a mating strategy based on feed efficiency.

Teat and water boiler disinfection system based UV-C radiation for feeder
Urban: Hygiene – Set UV-C
The innovation presented is intended to combat hygiene deficiencies at the automatic feeder by using UV-C technology. Applied UV-C radiation acts directly on the genome of a cell: When the photons of UV radiation meet the DNA double helix, a photochemical reaction triggers a molecular rearrangement within the DNA, resulting in the formation of thymine dimers. At these dimers, DNA replication and transcription are interrupted, and the cell can no longer make new proteins or reproduce. The cell dies within a short time.
Urban GmbH has integrated this already existing solution with UV-C technology into its automatic feeders. The result: Alma Pro HygienesetUV-C. This device consists of an automatic UV-C nipple disinfection unit, which automatically disinfects the nipples after each passage, and a UV-C radiation unit in the water heater, which reliably disinfects the water in the water heater.

Diamond cut grooves on concrete floors
Rainu‘Diamant is a technical innovation for grooving concrete floors with diamond discs. The resulting grooves have perfectly formed edges without damaging the concrete surface. With a depth of 4 to 5 millimetres, a width of 12 millimetres at spacing of 27 millimetres, this pattern of grooves improves cow mobility, comfort and safety. In contrast to grooves made with carbide-tipped parts, the grooves obtained by sawing have sharp and clean angles, thus ensuring the hooves to get a better grip. This diamond cutting technique allows concrete that is less than one year old to be grooved without the risk of splintering or damaging the surface. Enabling farmers to finish their stall floors to high safety standard before the new buildings are put into service. The Rainu‘Diamant groove dimensions are also particularly suitable for stalls that have never been grooved, on “slurry” system and are equipped with automatic scrapers or vacuum slurry robots.

Your daily co-pilot
Agrikomp France: akCockpit
akCockpit is a web application for tracking and optimisation of methanisation plants in injection and in cogeneration. It contains both data visualisation tabs (biogas, process, scrubber, laboratory, data center, boiler) and tabs that will be linked to actions made by users (maintenance or filling the ration). Otherwise, if the specified set values are exceeded, some alarms will alert the operator so that corrective actions can be taken as quickly as possible. In addition, the operator can also remotely connect to the control software of his installation thanks to the akCockpit. Also, all the information necessary to control an installation are grouped into a single application, available at any time and at any day wherever the operator is.

Automatic man-machine time measurement solution
Aptimiz is expanding its offer with Aptitrack, the first solution which automatically measures all man and machine time on a farm. Without any input, Aptitrack automatically detects which machine a farmer is working on and which tools are hitched-up (tractors, harvesting machines, soil working tools, feeding tools, high pressure cleaners, etc.). Aptitrack ensures precise and automatic activities traceability carried out in the farm, from breeding to the plot. This allows a precise mechanisation costs allocation between all different workshops on the farm (feeding, cleaning, handling, dairy cattle, beef cattle, poultry, methanisation, etc.). Aptitrack brings savings on mechanisation costs while improving the overall performance of the farm. Coupled with Aptitrack, Aptimiz improves technical efficiency (time/animal, time/1000l, time/m2, time/ha...), hourly profitability and helps to save time, with really no action from the user.

Automatic preparation of powdered chlorine solution
Granulo-Pack is an automatic powder chlorine solution preparer DCCNA (trade name Granuloklor at Aquadis).
DCCNA is a chlorine molecule more and more used for the disinfection of water in breeding, it gives excellent results at a very low cost of use. However, it has several drawbacks:
- Very unstable and volatile, it is necessary to renew the stock solution as often as possible (ideal every 1 or 2 days, maximum 1 week).
- The concentration decreases day by day which causes a big variation in the chlorine level in the drinking water.
- Significant emission of chlorine gas at the time of preparation, very irritating to the eyes and the respiratory tract.
Granulo-Pack eliminates all these drawbacks because it automatically prepares a small amount of stock solution several times a day ensuring a constant concentration. The breeder simply has to fill a hopper with DCCNA for an autonomy that can go up to 1750 m3 or about 3 months for a farm consuming 20 m3 / d.
