New appointment at Animine – Asia Pacific

Animine, French supplier of precision minerals for animal nutrition is developing its Asia-Pacific team with the arrival of Yohann Laurent. With a strong technical knowledge in feed additive market and experience in Asia, Yohann is part of Animine since 1 January 2021. In this new position, Yohann will take care and support the existing Animine’s distributors in South East Asia to develop Animine market share and diversify products application (HiZox, CoRouge and ManGrin).

ILDEX Indonesia 2021 to open its doors

ILDEX Indonesia 2021 – the 5^th International Livestock, Dairy, Meat Processing and Aquaculture Exposition will open its doors to industry professionals and trade visitor again from 24-26 November 2021. It is organised by VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific. ILDEX Indonesia 2021 includes all groups of livestock management and meat processing. The show will occupy 10,000 sqm at “ICE (Indonesia Convention Exhibition)” in Tangerang (West Jakarta). At the last ILDEX in 2019, the organisers registered 250 exhibitors and 12,200 trade visitors.

AGROS trade fair in Russia postponed

Due to the uncertain situation surrounding the pandemic, DLG RUS, the organiser of AGROS, has concluded that it will not be possible to hold the event to the usual high standards on the original scheduled dates in January 2021. AGROS will therefore be postponed by 5 months and will take place from 18 to 20 May 2021 at the international exhibition center ‘Crocus Expo’ in Moscow, Russia. The AGROS fair is organised with the support of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the National Associations of Milk Producers, Poultry Breeders, Pig Breeders, Beef Producers, Cattle Breeders, the National Bio-Union, the Skolkovo Innovation Center.

Neogen: Easier way to detect aflatoxin

Neogen Corporation announced that it has launched a quicker, easier test to detect aflatoxin M1, a known cancer-causing toxin of concern to the global dairy industry.

Neogen’s new Reveal Q+ for Aflatoxin M1 can detect as little as 150 parts per trillion (ppt) of the toxin in milk samples in just minutes. The new test is designed for use with Neogen’s Raptor Integrated Analysis Platform, which controls the timing, temperature and reading of the test strips — allowing testers to simply add sample and walk away. Aflatoxin M1 is a carcinogenic metabolite of aflatoxin B1 that is produced in the rumen of dairy cattle. Many countries, including the United States and Brazil, have a regulatory limit of 500 ppt for aflatoxin M1. The new test can detect aflatoxin M1 in milk within a range of 150 to 600 ppt.

Inedia for mangement of mycotoxins

Inedia, from Biodevas Laboratoires, enables a new approach to the management of mycotoxins, not by capturing them, but by raising the tolerance thresholds of animals to them by stimulating the metabolism of xenobiotics. Inedia maintains zootechnical performance in the presence of mycotoxins by managing the oxidative stress that induces the stimulation of endogenous antioxidant enzymes necessary to maintain digestive and hepatic structural integrity. This innovation was given the Innov’Space 2020 award. It can be used for pig, poultry and ruminant species in different situations.

Connecterra welcomes new chief financial officer

Connecterra announced today that Min Zhu is joining the company as chief financial officer effective 4 January 2021. In her 2-year tenure, the former WeTransfer executive contributed 40% topline growth and led a successful €35M Series B fund raising for the Dutch unicorn. Denis Brinicombe Group: New expaned bolus range

The Denis Brinicombe Group has expanded its range with 3 new products in order to meet the needs of a wide range of cattle: EnduraBol Biotin, EnduraBol Pre-Calver and EnduraBol Organic. All the products in the range reduce the risk of micronutrient imbalances in grazing and forage fed cattle over 150 kg, through a sustained release of nutrients.

Hipra takes a firm step towards human health

Spanish Health Minister Salvador Illa visited the headquarters of the Spanish multinational Hipra, which specialises in the research, production and marketing of vaccines for animal health. The visit arose as a result of the Health Minister’s interest in learning about the progress Hipra is making towards human health. The pharmaceutical company is currently researching a new vaccine for Covid-19 by conducting 2 lines of research: one on its own and another in collaboration with the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona based on virus mRNA that guarantees long-term immunity.

Bluestar Adisseo completes FRAmelco Group acquisition

Bluestar Adisseo has completed the acquisition of FRAmelco Group, a Dutch feed additive company. “This complementary combination supports our strategy for accelerating growth of our Specialty products business,” says Adisseo CEO Jean-Marc Dublanc. FRAmelco Group, a family-owned multinational group headquartered in the Netherlands, operates 3 plants located in the Netherlands, Spain and Thailand. The business generates gross sales close to €30 million per year.
