Lallemand opens office in Vietnam
Lallemand Animal Nutrition is opening its office in HoChi Minh City, Vietnam. Lallemand Vietnam will distribute the Lallemand portfolio for ruminants, pork, poultry, and aquaculture throughout Vietnam. This includes feed additives for all species, silage inoculants, bioremediation solutions for aquaculture as well as animal environment products.
Adisseo acquires FRAmelco Group
Adisseo has acquired the FRAmelco Group, a Dutch feed additive company. This transaction is part of Adisseo’s strategy to boost Specialties growth to become one of the worldwide leaders of specialty feed ingredients in animal nutrition. This acquisition will reinforce Adisseo’s position in the promising Health by Nutrition market segment.

Merck Animal Health completes acquisition of Vecoxan
Merck Animal Health, known as MSD Animal Health outside the United States and Canada, announced the completion of its previously announced acquisition of the worldwide rights to Vecoxan (diclazuril), an oral suspension for the prevention of coccidiosis in calves and lambs, from Elanco Animal Health. Vecoxan is efficacious, in lambs, in the prevention of coccidiosis and in calves, it is efficacious against coccidiosis caused by Eimeria bovis and Eimeria zuernii. Vecoxan is available in Europe, South Africa, South Korea and Japan. Coccidiosis is a common cause of scours (diarrhoea) in lambs and calves which is highly prevalent on cattle and sheep farms.
Rapid detection of A1 beta-casein in milk
Swiss biotech company SwissDeCode is launching a simple, fast, on-site solution that helps dairy companies to identify A1 beta-casein in milk. The increasing popularity and growing demand for this type of milk represents an opportunity. Until now, a rapid and reliable way to test the purity of A1 milk was not available.

PathogenDx to collaborate on rapid detection of foodborne pathogens
PathogenDx, Inc., an Arizona based technology company which has developed a multiplexed microarray DNA-based pathogen testing platform, announced that it will collaborate with the US Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) to study the effectiveness of its microarray testing technology in identifying foodborne pathogens throughout the food supply chain. In recent years, there have been numerous recalls and disease outbreaks due to dangerous bacteria, such as E. coli, Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes.
ICC Brazil reports 10% increase in sales
ICC Brazil, a company in the production of yeast-based animal nutrition, recorded an increase of 10% in the sale of its products in the last 3 months. ICC Brazil has a variety of 100% natural products, which it says increases animal performance. One of its main products, ImmunoWall, a yeast cell wall with high concentrations of MOS and B-glucans, controls pathogens and has an immunomodulating action, favouring a faster and more effective response. ICC also offers Hilyses, which has free nucleotides and nucleosides, enhancing cell multiplication and ensuring that the animal reaches its maximum potential. It is especially suitable for the early stages of growth, reproduction, lactation, periods of stress, and significant challenges. For ruminants, RumenYeast is composed mainly of fermentation metabolites, and is the ideal nutrition for the ruminal microbiota, in addition to promoting the improvement of intestinal health and strengthening of the immune system. It acts by maintaining the pH and stimulating cellulolytic bacteria, thus improving rumen conditions and maximising animal performance and welfare.
