Deosan: Milk parlour hygiene info during coronavirus

During the current Covid-19 situation, some dairy farmers may take on inexperienced staff to help complete daily tasks such as milking and cleaning the parlour. Deosan is offering information sheets which provide farms with some basic steps to follow when cleaning milking systems and milking cows.

Issues with labour and staff during the current situation could prove to be stressful for all involved, especially when best hygiene practice is necessary to ensure good animal health and welfare, and optimal milk quality.

Deosan, therefore, have published free printable information sheets which offer all farms some basic steps to follow when cleaning milking systems and milking cows. This will be especially useful for new employees, or current employees taking on new daily roles, but also serves as a good reminder to all staff. It applies to all types of systems and products.

Simple check list

Alison Cox, global application specialist at Diversey, the manufacturers of the Deosan range of hygiene products says, “We felt offering some practical help on farm could relieve some concerns currently being experienced by farmers.”

Cox continues, “When a new person is introduced to the daily milking routine you often realise how many elements of the system need attention. Time to train new staff may be limited so having a simple check list available will help in ensuring the vital steps in the routine are carried out correctly and good milk quality is maintained.”
