Cows give junior judges a hard time

Armed with a pencil, a clipboard and all the knowlegde they had gathered during their young lives, college students from all over the US entered the arena of the 2014 World Dairy Expo Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judging Contest.

Centre stage was for the cows, looking all beautiful, making the lives of the students not easy. In the end they were not the ones who were judged, the students were.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison garnered top honours with the overall team title along with grabbing first place in team reason. Rounding out the top five teams were: University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, third; Penn State University, fourth; and University of Illinois at Champagne-Urbana, fifth. Twenty-one teams competed in this year’s contest.
